Looking for a fun and inexpensive way to work with your child to help them learn their shapes? Or properties of shapes? Try a geo board. They are super simple to make, lots of fun and great educational materials
Supplies
A piece of wood- usually square 8×8″
25 nails with a head
a bag of rubber bands
How To:
1.Simply mark a grid of 5×5 points on your board
2. Nail your nails in about half way
3. Enjoy- have students stretch rubber bands around nails to make different shapes, patterns etc. students can explore on their own, follow directions, create pictures, make mystery shapes, explain their shape so that another person has to recreate it without looking at it….. the list goes on. Just be careful for flying rubber bands!
